Project Background

The Mission:

In Team Three Dimensional, student (Adriana Conlin, CT State Manchester) explored the exciting and rapidly evolving field of additive manufacturing by actively testing, programming, and repairing advanced 3D printing equipment. Students can engage with state-of-the-art 3D printers capable of producing components using various materials, including metals, polymers, and composite materials. This involved the creation of intricate parts and also required students to tackle multiple challenges related to optimizing print quality, including adjusting print parameters, selecting appropriate materials, and troubleshooting machine errors that may arise during the printing process. Sean Belleau, Strategic Client Executive, TriMech sponsored the project.
